Meet Clive
Clive is a working line Labrador Retriever who came into rescue after being born with a cleft palate. He was hand reared by one of our amazing trustees Nicola, and has been given every bit of love and care he needed to grow into the incredible young dog he is today.
A cleft palate is a congenital condition where there is an opening or gap in the roof of the mouth. This means the mouth and nasal cavity are not fully separated. It can make feeding more difficult and increase the risk of milk or food entering the nasal passages. Dogs with a cleft palate often need specialist feeding routines, careful management and in some cases surgery.
Clive is now almost a year old and is ready to find his forever home. He is young, loving and very intelligent boy with so much to give.
He is looking for an experienced and knowledgeable home ideally familiar with clefts. If not then someone whose within the Birmingham area where Nicola is located and can be on hand if needed. Clive can be rehomed with other dogs (ideally a spayed female) and also dog savvy children. He will need an active home that can keep up with his energy and continue supporting his needs.
